Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC) is really pulling out all the stops this year. At the event, MTN confirmed a partnership with Summview in order to launch a new service dubbed “MTN TV” on mobile devices. MTN Côte d’Ivoire is now expected to offer users access to a set number of live TV channels as well as on-demand content.
According to MTN Côte d’Ivoire an application is already available, and can be found on the MTN CI website. Alternatively, the application is available on the Google PlayStore. According to the mobile operator, users can essentially subscribe to the services for either a day, a week, or a month.

At the reveal, MTN Côte d’Ivoire stated that the initiative would have been impossible without the platform developed by Summview. Wim Vanhelleputte, CEO of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, stated that: “With MTN TV, MTN Côte d’Ivoire essentially expands its range of services and mobile applications as well as provides its subscribers with an offering of quality content, information as well as entertainment on mobile. Summview allowed us to master the costs and secure the roll-out. By deploying this new service, MTN continues its actions to offer its customers a new digital world and contributes to the emergence of a digital Ivory Coast.”
The first five international channels accessible on MTN TV are France 24, Al Jazeera, Trace Africa, Bblack and TIJI.
